Hispaniae populi a Celtis oriundi. Meminit corum Strabo, l. 3. ὕςτατοι δὲ οἰκοῦςιν Α῎ρταβροι περι την` ἄκραν, ἣ καλεῖται Νέριον; ἣ καὶ τῆς Ε῾ςπερίου πλευρᾶς καὶ τῆς Βορείου πέρας ἐςτὶ, περιοικοῦςι δὲ αὐ την` Κελτικοὶ, Ultimi autem habitant Artabri circa promontorium Nerium, quod Hesperii lateris Boreique extremum est: circum illud autem habitant Celtici. Unde et Celticum promontor. Sunt autem hi, quos Nerienses cognomine dicit vocatos Plinius, l. 4. c. 20. a promontor. scilicet Nerio, ut ab aliis Celticis distinguerentur, qui dicebantur Paesamarci. In Tarraconensi provinc. quos a Celtiberis in Lusitaniam advenisse, idem ait, l. 3. c. 1. Regionem, quae a Baeti ad Anam tendit, in duas fuisse divisam gentes addens, Turdulos et Celticos. Strabo vero Celticos hos Tarraconenses seu Anenses (qui iterum in Nerienses et Paesamarcos divisi) a Celticis Baeticis oriundos vult. Quam in rem vide Salmas. ad Solin. p. 276. et seqq. et supra ubi de Arotrebarum promontor. Hoc enim idem cum Celtico, ab accolis sic dictum. Celticorum autem Baetiae oppida, communia habere nomina cum Celtiberorum oppidis, cognominibus saltem distingui, ut Seria e. g. dicatur Fama Iulia; Nertobriga, Concordia Iulia; Segide, Restituta Iulia, etc. habet Plinius, l. 3. c. 3. Sed cum Turdulorum oppida pro Celticis numerare, docet Salmas. ibidem.
